fearless women pray!

Today was beautiful — I finally managed to wake up early on my day off, whip up a quick breakfast (ya girl makes the best omelettes), set aside a little time for morning devotion and Bible reading, and journal a bit before heading out for my workout. I did it! I can’t tell you how long I’ve struggled with creating a real schedule and actually sticking to it. Writing the plan isn’t the problem; the hard part is putting it into motion without getting pulled away by other things. I guess that’s where discipline is supposed to kick in. Hmm… can you relate, or am I out here on a lonely limb?

Usually my off days are a blur of morning cardio, laundry, cleaning the kitchen like we’re prepping for a military inspection, taking my kids to school, running errands, prepping dinner, then circling back to fold the laundry that was washed earlier — only to stop again to pick the kids up from school. By the time everything’s done I’m spent, burnt out, and done being outside. I’d give anything for a hot shower and the remote. That used to be my life, and on top of all of that I still carried a running list of things I wanted to do for myself: self-care time, journaling, updating my website, planning empowerment events, and more. Within the last year or to my kids have both graduated from high school, and I’m learning or re- learning how to make room for those things again. If you’re new here I would like to reintroduce myself. I’m Monique Davis, author of The Fearless Woman book and journal and ringleader of The Fearless Woman enterprise! Around here we strive to motivate all women to be their very best, in every role they play, build community and encourage our fellow sisters to bloom with confidence and purpose FEARLESSLY! The movement was birthed about five years ago and though we’ve had a few set backs here and there, we’re on the move to bigger and better. This new blog series of ‘fearless women pray!” is my way of sharing another part of me. Writing is my passion and prayer is my source. Never underestimate the power of prayer, whether it’s whispered through tired lips, a heart that is hurting or a spirit that simply says, “Lord, I need thee.” Prayer may not always change the situation immediately but it changes us in the meantime. It gives us peace when we don’t have the answers, hope when the road ahead feels and looks uncertain and strength when we feel defeated. God is always present (OMNI PRESENT). God hears you. God sees you.

“ The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

Dear God,

Thank You for creating me with strength, purpose, courage, and grace. Help me bloom fearlessly into the woman You have called me to be—not controlled by fear, doubt, or the opinions of others, but grounded in faith. When I feel weak, remind me that Your strength is within me. When I feel afraid, remind me that You go before me. When I feel uncertain, remind me to trust Your plan. And whenever life knocks me down, give me the courage to rise again. Lord, teach me to embrace every season, knowing that I am still becoming everything You created me to be. Surround me with women who encourage, uplift, pray for, and celebrate me—and in return help me to be that same source of strength for my fellow sisters. May I never shrink myself to make others comfortable. May I walk with confidence, love with compassion, speak with wisdom, and live my life with purpose.

I am a woman of faith.
I am a woman of courage.
I am a woman of purpose.
I am fearless—not because I have no fear, but because I know God is within me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🌸
